Ohmicron Ltd was
incorporated in 1979, at which time it was concerned mainly
in the manufacture and design of electro-mechanical
assemblies for the Marine industry.
With increasing demand
for turned components during the 1980`s, Ohmicron invested
in conventional automatic lathes, producing components that
required secondary operations to complete.
In 1997, we decided to
address the problems associated with conventional machining
and to replace our machinery with modern CNC automatic
lathes instead, which could produce highly complex
components complete in one operation.
Such was the success of
this strategy, that in 1998 Ohmicron expanded into premises
3 times larger and now only operate CNC Turning Centres and
Sliding head CNC Lathes, producing finished components 24
hours a day, 7 days a week, many of which are produced under
“lights out” un-manned conditions.
Much of our output is
used in the OEM sector that is itself exported to all parts
of the world. The remainder of our production work is
undertaken for the mechanical services business sector and a
wide range of manufacturers throughout the UK and Europe.
With our focus upon
single operation machining, we pride ourselves upon
achieving for our customers, fast turnaround and reliable
delivery on components up to 60mm diameter in small or large
batches.
